Over 175 middle and high school students from Washington State descended upon Cavelero Mid High on Saturday, January 31 for the Cavelero Cup VEX Robotics Competition.

Cavelero Mid High School in Lake Stevens hosted a Vex Robotics Competition on Jan. 31, hosting more than 175 middle and high school students from more than 50 teams from across the state. Local schools fielding teams were Sky Valley Education Center in Monroe, Mariner High School in south Everett, Lake Stevens High School and Cavelero Mid High.

Cavelero Mid High School hosted the Vex Robotics Western Regional State Competition on March 7. More than 175 middle and high school students, comprising 53 teams, battled against each other with robots created from the VEX Robotics Design System.

Thirty students from Cavelero Mid High School’s Computer Applications class attended the Technology Student Association State Conference in Bellevue, Wash., on March 26-28. Twelve students from Karen Coulombe’s Computer Applications class and 18 students from Will Fredin’s class. There were over 800 students competing in this year’s event.

For the third year in a row Cavelero Mid High’s C-bots had a team represent Washington at the VEX World Championship tournament. The C-bots joined 450 high School teams, from 29 different nations, to compete with the best VEX robots on the planet at the world’s largest robotics competition.
